Hi hi! I realize I have been posting up many crochet patterns and was asked to do a tutorial on how to crochet and knit. Well, I thought about it and honestly, I learned off YouTube. LOL. Everything can be learned from the internet nowadays by googling it but I am going to share the sites that were most helpful to me when I began. I didn’t think it necessary to write many posts or do my own videos as there are tons of great ones out there and anything I have to say will just be reiterating what has been done. Besides, why not give someone credit for the hard-work they’ve put into these videos and tutorials.
To start, if you missed my posts on crochet vs. knitting, you can read that to start.
I am so excited to have run into this website that has absolutely the best crochet tutorials for beginners! It has everything from supplies you’ll need to how to start your chains and basic stitches plus some techniques! BUT it’s not too much at once so it doesn’t overwhelm you. Also refer back to my previous posts on how to crochet and crochet in the round.
I still consider myself fairly new to knitting and only got into it when there were certain things I wanted to make like sweaters that crochet didn’t really allow for the amount of stretch I was looking for. I basically learned off a couple of YouTube channels because I realized I couldn’t grasp written tutorials and have to see the way the yarn is worked. I really like GoodKnitKisses as she goes rather slow and have basic tutorials for you get the hang of knitting slowly. KnittingHelp.com also has some simple and easy to follow video tutorials that were really helpful. She shows different ways you can hold the yarn as well so you can try what is most comfortable for you.
Pick up this hobby and you’ll never regret it! ^_^
